Information that impacts the health, safety, and quality of life of Siouxland residents is displayed on indoor and outdoor TVs (electronic billboards), broadcast via multilingual daily newscasts and local cable TV channels, demonstrated in YouTube videos, and distributed to direct service providers

With support from the Sherwood Foundation, Growing Community Connections recently engaged a team of seven multilingual Siouxlanders to complete over 325 interviews in 9 languages spoken by Dakota County immigrants and refugees. The questions sought their perceptions of our community’s and their own health, economic stability, education, safety, and general well-being. Overall, the outcomes of the information-gathering project suggested the programs and services that GCC partners currently provide are on the right track but there is substantial opportunity to do more outreach to educate community members about those programs and services.
